ABOUT THE CLUB
We are a group of up to 20 members who regularly meet to exchange ideas, show our movies, discuss if and how they could be improved and keep up-to-date with modern technology. As a mixed ability group, our experience ranges from "fairly amateur" to "widely experienced". We are familiar with most of the popular movie capture and editing systems and are all keen to improve our skills and to share our knowledge and experience with fellow members. Weekly meetings usually last about two and a half hours with time for a cup of tea or coffee and a bit of socialising at the interval which is usually halfway through. Some of our members are mainly interested in technology and film-making methods, but others simply enjoy the social aspects of club. As a result, our meetings involve technical presentations and discussions as well as viewing our own films and those from other clubs. Films are often followed by a compered discussion about any lessons that might be learned from the films.
Some club members collaborate in the production of dramas, comedies, documentaries etc, sometimes in partnership with local societies. Also, we work together to film a local activity. Why not view examples of our work in the "Our Films" sub-menu. If you wish to gain a better understanding of our activities, which might help in deciding whether this is the club for you, simply use the "Contact Us" link to create an email which will be received by one of our team and promptly answered. Your next step may be to take advantage of the two weeks' free club membership which would help with your assessment. |
